About Kirsten Langereis

Kirsten Langereis (she/her) is a biomedical communications designer specializing in medical graphic design.

She acknowledges and thanks the lək̓ʷəŋən People, also known as the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations communities—past, present and future—from whose traditional territory she lives, works and learns as an uninvited guest of settler ancestry.

Kirsten has been developing her visual communications practice since 2017 with a focus on health and science communications since 2020. She collaborates with designers, storytellers and industry experts to create user-centred design solutions using a range of applications and media (digital and print).

Three years in the non-profit sector working as a communications coordinator with patient communities and healthcare professionals highlighted the benefit—and life-altering challenges—of current healthcare systems and decision-making around health. This guided her focus to knowledge transfer and health promotion, which she continues to pursue through an informed and empathetic lens.

She frequently works with confidential and sensitive information to develop impactful communication solutions with collaborators.

Kirsten completed the University of British Columbia’s Biomedical Visualization and Communication Certificate Program in 2023 and the British Columbia Institute of Technology’s Graphic Design Associate’s Certificate Program in 2017.
